Buy the License Plate that Supports Local Arts
The Florida Arts License Plate Program was created by the Legislature in 1994. Coordinated by the Arts Council of Hillsborough County, the campaign was seen as a way to raised much needed funds for local arts agencies.
Today, $20 of every plate fee is returned to the designated local arts agency of the county in which the plate was sold. The county receives the money directly from the Department of Highway, Safety and Motor Vehicles (DMV). In addition to supporting local arts, that $20 is tax-deductible for the buyer.
Choose the Florida “State of the Arts” license plate next time you renew and support your LOCAL arts. To buy the arts plate at any time other than when you renew, simply visit your local tag office, turn in your current plate and receive your new one on the spot.
Contact your local Department of Motor Vehicles to get your “State of the Arts” license plate.
