UF Seeks Associate Dean for College of the Arts

Position Description: Full-time, twelve month, faculty position at the Associate Professor or Full Professor rank.

Date of Expected Hire: July 1, 2017

The University of Florida, College of the Arts is searching for an Associate Dean for Academic & Student Affairs. The Associate Dean is responsible for cross-college collaboration on degree design and program building in all areas of the curriculum, including planning and fiscal management for international, online, summer and graduate programs. The Associate Dean provides strategic and operational leadership for the college’s partnerships with other arts schools in the state; oversees tenure and promotion processes; and assists academic units with accreditation and program reviews. This position provides guidance and support to academic units on all aspects of enrollment management and student success, focusing on recruitment and retention. Other responsibilities include representing the College internally and externally on committees and at meetings and events, as well as performing other duties on an as-needed basis.

Minimum Requirements: Candidates must hold a terminal degree in one of the College’s disciplines and a record of distinction in research, teaching and service that warrant a tenured appointment at the rank of Associate or Full Professor. Candidates must also have at least two years of academic administrative leadership in a college or university setting. Excellent oral and written communication, analytical and interpersonal skills required.
