Next month WUSF brings the popular weekly radio hour Snap Judgment to the stage. The live show will feature Glynn Washington and some of the nation’s top storytellers. Washington, his Snap Judgment crew, and the Snap Playaz band perform live for one-night-only at the Tampa Theatre on Friday, September 29. Tickets are on sale now.
Launched on NPR stations in 2012, Snap Judgment is the creative masterwork of Glynn Washington, a creative jack-of-all-trades, having composed music for the Kunst Stoff dance performances in San Francisco, rocked live spoken word poetry in Detroit, performed with a band in Indonesia, wrote several screenplays, painted a daring series of self-portraits and released a blues album.
Snap Judgment brings all of Washington’s talents together with an intimate, uncensored musical brand of storytelling in a spoken word adventure. Expect a multi-platform experience (radio, stage, screen, web) that offers an intimate look into the lives of strangers – both the good and bad.
On NPR, Snap Judgment is heard weekly on more than 365 public radio stations and downloaded more than two million times a month. Locally, fans can catch Snap Judgment every week on WUSF 89.7.
