Novice to Ninja Bootcamp – Social Media for Artists
This will be a 2-part series that will cover various social media channels, including YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest, Google+, LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook; and how to not let it take over your art career. Session one is perfect for social media beginners who want to understand which platforms will benefit them and which social media channels will reach their target audience. The second session delves deeper into more advanced use, building on information from session 1, and will turn even the most novice social media user into a social media ninja!
Session 1: Tuesday, April 11, 4-6 pm
Learn the fundamental strategies for using social media platforms and how they fit into your marketing needs. We’ll look at social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, YouTube, Instagram and Pinterest. Learn which one is right for you, creating a strategy, developing a content schedule and time management.
Session 2: Tuesday, May 9, 4-6 pm
We will delve deeper into the major social media channels and the tools/ techniques that will grow your audience and keep them engaged. In particular, we’ll look at how videos are increasing in popularity and how to make sure that your videos are making an impact in an online environment.
LEARN FROM THE EXPERTS AT A MEDIA MARKETING
Leslie Laney, marketing ninja and president of A Media Marketing, worked with the Arts Council to create these sessions for individual artists. Leslie’s first workshop during our inaugural Arts Academy season received rave reviews. She has extensive experience in high-level management, strategic planning, systems thinking, and cultural change and regularly provides training for business owners, marketers, key employees and decision makers. Most recently, she conducted social media training for small business owners during Microsoft’s Entrepreneur Week and is currently leading the Arts Council’s four-part series on Strategic Social Media Marketing for cultural organizations. She is a certified master trainer by Alan AtKisson in the ISIS Method, which looks at all areas of the compass (Nature, Economy, Society, and Well-being) through the lens of sustainability.
Alexandra Gamache is the Digital Media Director for A Media Marketing. She is a digital media specialist for video, social, writing and 2D, as well as project management. She creates eye-catching video blogs, ads and custom 2D animation spots. Her film Note To Self was featured in the Short Film Corner at the Cannes Film Festival. She has a bachelor degree in Film and Media Arts from the University of Tampa.
