Jobsite Theater Seeks Production Interns for 2016-17 Season

The 2016-17 theatre season is getting underway and it takes many hands to bring the final, polished productions to audiences. Technical theatre internships are a great way to get experience and learn through hands-on work how to make that happen. Jobsite Theater is offering three such opportunities now.

Assistant to the Technical Director – works with the Technical Director and assists in most areas (scenic, lighting, props). This intern will assist with pre-build and load-ins of scenic elements, hang & focus of lighting, and acquiring of props for productions. Some experience with carpentry, lighting, and/or props is preferred.

Scenic Carpenter – works with the Technical Director on pre-build and load-in of scenic elements. May also be required to assist with basic painting. This applicant should have some experience in carpentry and have a working knowledge of power tools.

Scenic Artist – works with the Scenic Designer to paint scenic elements once loaded into the theater, prepares surfaces for paint treatments by carving/adding texture, color mixes and paints sets that range from realistic interiors/exteriors to the abstract. This applicant should have some previous painting experience.

Both class credit (if the institution attended allows) and stipends may be available.
