HCC Ybor Art Gallery held an opening for the exhibition by accomplished Colombian painter and sculptor Carlos Arturo Camargo Vilardy on Oct. 6. The installation, El Circo de Arturo, features magnificent bronze circus figures and trapeze artists under the Big Top. The artist, who now lives in the Temple Terrace area, spoke about the inspiration for the work in the exhibition. The circus is the oldest show in the world and in turn the most contemporary, made for all ages. The compositional space inside the tent with its bars, nets, strings and tensors attract Vilardy’s artistic vision.
Carlos Vilardy is a respected artist throughout the world and his work is collected and shown throughout the U.S.
The Art Gallery is in the HCC Performing Arts Building, first floor, Palm Ave and 15th Street, Ybor City.
