Homeschoolers get a great history lesson when Tampa Bay History Center hosts guided walking tour of Tampa’s historic Ybor City, once a booming cigar manufacturing town with a rich cultural heritage. The tour starts with activities at the History Center, and then boards the TECO Streetcar to take in the sights and sounds of Ybor.
Students will learn what life was like for families in Tampa 100 years ago, and experience some hands-on activities along the way.
Three sessions are offered Friday, April 10 from 10 am to 3 pm. Cost is $10-12 and includes streetcar fare. Families are welcome to stay and explore the Tampa Bay History Center galleries until 5 p.m.
Designed for homeschool children of all ages, the Home School History Days offer unique, hands-on learning experiences.
