Faster than a Golden Snitch in Quidditch tournament, tickets to The Florida Orchestra’s Harry Potter concerts have been flying out of the Straz box office. The opportunity to watch the highly popular “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” movie with a full symphony orchestra performing the film score live has proven to be irresistible to audiences since tickets went on sale May 12. So much so, that The Florida Orchestra (TFO) has added a third performance to its run of concerts next fall at the Straz Center.
The Harry Potter™ film series is one of those once-in-a-lifetime cultural phenomena that continues to delight millions of fans around the world. This fall, TFO will perform legendary composer John Williams’ Academy Award nominated score while audiences experience the magic of the film in high-definition on a giant 40-foot screen. The orchestra will be conducted by Justin Freer, who has appeared with the New York Philharmonic, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the London Philharmonic Orchestra and more.
