Professional Development for Teaching and Performance Artists
This two-session professional development workshop is designed to help teaching and performance artists create standards-based study guides, use CPALMS to identify standards and provide strategies for inclusion in the arts for students with disabilities.
Session one, facilitated by Katie Adams and Caroll Vick, will cover the purpose of a study guide, the elements to include, tips for creating activities and how to identify appropriate Florida Standards using CPALMS.
Session two, facilitated by Lauren Saslow, will cover the importance of art education for students with disabilities, use of ‘people first’ language, tips for inclusion, using the least level of intervention, instructional strategies, accommodations and modifications, and the Universal Design for Learning (UDL).

Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. Workshop begins at 9:30 a.m. and will end at 12:30 p.m.
