STRAZ CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS
The David A. Straz, Jr. Center for the Performing Arts is located in downtown Tampa along the Hillsborough River. The center provides an environment for a wide variety of world-class events including dance, symphony, opera, plays, cabaret, pop concerts, comedy, children’s shows and Broadway musicals. The performing arts complex consists of five distinct theaters, Carol Morsani Hall (2,610 seats), Ferguson Hall (1,100 seats), the Jaeb Theater (300 seats), the TECO Energy Foundation Theater (250 seats) and the Shimberg Playhouse (130 seats). The Straz Center’s educational component, the Patel Conservatory, features a variety of classrooms and music studios, spacious and contemporary dance studios with sprung floors, a sound/lighting laboratory, in-house scene and costume shops and a state-of-the-art black box theater.
