Volunteer for the Arts

You can support the arts with your time. Sometimes an organization just needs an extra pair of hands, a friendly face or a special skill. Often they provide training. Help the arts and have fun doing it!

CARROLLWOOD PLAYERS THEATRE is Tampa’s longest continuously operating community theatre company and could use volunteers for a variety of activities. Work Front of House taking tickets, work concessions, or selling 50/50 raffle tickets and see a show for free. FIVE BY FIVE TAMPA BAY is an annual event of the Arts Council of Hillsborough County. Volunteers are needed for a variety of tasks in the two months leading up to the event, usually held in the Fall. Volunteers assist receiving and logging artwork, making phone calls, working in the event night gallery and distributing promotional flyers. Call the Arts Council, 813-276-8250 to volunteer. FLORIDA MUSEUM OF PHOTOGRAPHIC ARTS depends on volunteers for a variety of tasks and programs. Sign up online and choose the area you are interested in working: greeters, docents, tours, special events, children’s programs, summer camps and more. Sign up on their website. (9/2016)

MacDONALD TRAINING CENTER ART PROGRAM – Volunteers are needed to work with their emerging artists in the MTC Fine Arts Studios. Instructional classes are held at the Tampa location from 8:30 am until 2 pm on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and at the Plant City location during the same hours on Tuesday and Thursdays. Volunteer hours are flexible. Volunteers are also needed for their Art Gallery shows and receptions.
