Call: LitSpace Writers’ Residency, St. Petersburg

Posted on Posted in All Posts, Calls, Auditions & Opportunities

Keep St. Pete Lit is proud to invite applications from fiction writers, poets, playwrights, essayists, and memoirists for the 2018 LitSpace St. Petersburg Writers’ Residency. We hope to build a legacy as a residency that provides support for adventurous writers and fresh voices. We encourage applications from writers whose work is challenging and daring, as well as from underrepresented backgrounds.

The residency is from April 8-22, 2018 and includes a stipend of $1400 to defray travel and living expenses for the period of the residency. Accommodations will be provided for two weeks at the Craftsman House on Central Avenue in St. Petersburg.

The recipient of the LitSpace Writers’ Residency will have an opportunity to conduct a brief  “master class” or workshop for local writers at the midway point of the residency, and to give one public reading at its conclusion in conjunction with the Sunlit Literary Festival.

The aim of the program is to foster writers from around the country and the world, enrich St. Petersburg’s literary culture, and connect it to the broader literary world. Therefore, we invite applications from anywhere in the world. However, we can only read applications and writing samples in English, and provide the same financial support regardless of a fellows’ travel expenses.
