WHO? The Core Planning Group for the upcoming People’s Climate March-Tampa on 4/29/17 is making this Call to Artists. This group is a coalition of reps from several nonprofit organizations in the Tampa Bay area. This is an opportunity for artists of all media types to show and express what climate change or sea-level rise means to them.
WHAT? Artists may submit between 1-5 pieces of art of any medium. All pieces must fit into the climate change or sea-level rise theme. Pieces may be for sale during the event. No application or fee required.
WHY? Tampa Bay is “ground zero” for climate change effects, specifically sea-level rise. Many vulnerable people living near the Bay will be adversely affected at some point. Through the People’s Climate March, we aim to bring attention to this imminent problem & include all kinds of peaceful expression about it, by all kinds of people.
WHEN? Artwork will be displayed on Sat., 4/29/17, 10 am-1 pm. Set up-8 am. Clean up-1 pm.
WHERE? Artwork will be set-up and displayed at MacDill Park on the Riverwalk in Tampa throughout the event. MacDill Park on the Riverwalk is at 100 Ashley Dr. & is the end point for the March. (The March begins at Lykes Gaslight Park.)
WHAT ELSE? Artists must bring their own display table/rack & tent, as needed. A responsible person needs to stay with the artwork during the event. Artists may sell their work during the event. No commission required.
