Pep Rally Artist at Work

Artists Seek Public Collaboration on West Tampa Park Project

Posted on Posted in All Posts

Pep Rally CollectiveWest Tampa artist collaborative, Pep Rally, has been commissioned by the City of Tampa Art Programs Division to create artwork that will be installed inside the Julian B. Lane Park River Center building. Located along the western edge of the Hillsborough River, the River Center building will include a boathouse, community center, as well as an interior piece of art, created by the collaborative.

In preparation for the upcoming project, the Pep Rally collaborative wants to hear your story about West Tampa. For instance,

  • What specific events, locations and times brought people together?
  • Are there any culturally significant memories, celebrations, and fond moments that you’d like to share?
  • What makes you proud to call West Tampa home?
  • Do you have any photographs or objects that you would be willing to share with the artists? If so, please bring them to a workshop and the items will be documented on-site and returned.

There are three sessions listed below for community members to meet the artists and share their personal stories about West Tampa. You’ll only need to attend one of the sessions listed below.
